Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Part P?
A. This is a regulation the Government introduced in 2008 to protect the public from unqualified electricians. You should always ask to see proof of qualification.
Q. Why is it important to be a member of the NICEIC or ECA?
A. The National Inspection Council (NICEIC) and Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) are associations that monitor the work of its members and are there to advise and assist the electrical companies to carry out good work. The contractors work is randomly checked and if shoddy work is found, that contractor will not be allowed to be a member of that association.
Q. How long will the job take?
A. Our engineer will be able to give you an idea of the length of time a job will take when he comes to quote for the work required.
Q. Can I see a copy of your insurance details?
A. Yes. This is something every customer should ask to see. Our office staff will be delighted to email or send you a copy of our latest insurance details.
Q. What do I do if something goes wrong or I am not happy with the work?
A. The first step is to call the engineer or the office and explain the problem. We will endeavor to fix the problem as soon as possible. If you are still not happy, we have a complaints procedure. Failing this, you can contact your local Trading Standards office or the relevant accredited body.
